Magic Beyond Words: The JK Rowling Story
Follow your heart and success will follow, that’s the inspiring message behind the new Lifetime Movie Magic Beyond Words: The JK Rowling Story. It’s always encouraging to see someone conquer all odds and truly follow their heart and passion. J.K. Rowling's enthusiasm for writing started when she was a child and she managed to live her dream even with several obstacles standing in her way. She wrote as a single parent while on government assistance; she wrote at night while her daughter was sleeping; she wrote at the coffee shop; she wrote while holding her daughter in her arms. She did whatever was needed to get her first manuscript written.
We all know how important it is to follow our hearts, but not everyone has the courage to follow through and succeed. But Rowling did, she overcame her fear, submitted her manuscript, and now, “somebody starts reading a Harry Potter book every 30 seconds.”
If you are looking for some inspiration and motivation you should definitely tune in to The JK Rowling Story which will premiere next Monday, July 18 at 8PM on Lifetime.
One of my favorite actresses, Poppy Montgomery (Unforgettable, Without a Trace) stars as J.K. Rowling in the movie that allows us to follow the British writer from her childhood to her rise to fame and wealth as the author of the Harry Potter Children’s books. When she received her first publishing deal in the United States she became the highest paid children’s author ever.
About Magic Beyond Words: The JK Rowling Story
Magic Beyond Words: The J.K. Rowling Story dramatizes the British author’s struggle to bring the beloved wizard fantasy of Harry Potter to life as a single mother on welfare and become one of the world’s wealthiest women, with more than 400 million copies of her visionary books sold across the globe resulting in a billion-dollar film franchise. The film is an inspiring look at a woman’s rise to become one of the most influential writers ever – from her humble beginnings as an imaginative young girl and awkward teenager to the devastating loss of her mother and the genesis of the Harry Potter phenomenon in her early twenties. The rags-to-riches tale also follows Rowling’s tumultuous first marriage, becoming a mother, her divorce, and the dark days of living on government assistance while publisher after publisher passed on her first novel…before it became an international best-seller and solidified Rowling’s rightful place in literary and cultural history.
After you watch the movie I would love to hear your opinions. Did it inspire you to follow your own dreams? I know one thing for sure, I’ll think twice before I complain about not having enough time to follow my own dreams. If she can juggle being a single mom managing a budget on government assistance and can still find time to write a manuscript, then I should be able to find the time to follow my own dream as well.
Tune in to Lifetime on Monday, July 18 at 8pm et/pt and watch "Magic Beyond Words: The JK Rowling Story."
