Stop Apologizing for Your Success...
A couple of years ago I wrote a post asking women entrepreneurs to stop apologizing for their success. I'm updating that sentiment and expanding it to successful, working women everywhere.
It really is a growing epidemic. Now, I'm not pointing fingers (well maybe I am a little) and I mean this in the kindest possible way (wait a minute, was that an apology?!).
The fact of the matter is, I have found myself doing it, too.
Women who are building their careers, starting their own businesses, and refusing to set limits on themselves when it comes to where they are and where they want to be success-wise are feeling guilty about it.
Apologizing for it.
Why?
Because they think it's bragging, they think they need to choose family, or in some cases finding Mr. Right, over career. When they can have both.
And the biggest reason?
Because they are being criticized for it. By their own friends and their families.
