A Major Meltdown and a Striped Look for Moms
If you watched the latest “Project Runway”, you know it was filled with all kinds of drama. But before we get to said drama, let’s talk about the guest judge. Jesse Tyler Ferguson joined the judging panel for this challenge. Why Jesse, AKA Mitchell , you ask? Well, he started a charity called Tie the Knot and the designers were tasked with creating looks that incorporated his ties. I love a good bow tie, so I was all about this challenge! I’m forever trying to get the hubs to dress like Brad Goreski…but I digress.
Right away you could tell who the front runners were this go around. Braden and Dom, in particular, designed crazy gorgeous pieces. Dom’s mixed striped dress and Braden’s intricate top were both worthy of the win in my opinion. Alas, there could only be one winner and I’m glad Braden ended up on top because he used that moment to propose to his long term boyfriend. It was so beautiful and instantly had this girl in tears. It was a breath of fresh in an episode that was dominated by nastiness.
Now that we’ve talked about the good, let’s talk about the ugly. Sandro spent most of the episode complaining about Zac Posen. Apparently he’d been offended by Zac’s critiques of him. Even though he was deemed safe by the judges, he decided it would be a good time to pick a fight with them…and it didn’t end there. After judging, he got into a very heated exchange with a few of his fellow designers and took off in a fit of anger. We later found out that he never came back and had been eliminated from the competition. I think they made the right call. The way he got up in Helen’s face was uncalled for. I was kind of surprised that she didn’t holler at him more than she did. Ha! Sandro eliminating himself was a lucky turn of events for Miranda as there was a good chance her crop top/pencil skirt look would have sent her packing.
For this week’s episode inspired outfit, I decided to use Dom’s darling dress as my inspiration. Her use of mixed stripes was fabulous! Since fall is headed our way, I decided to mix my stripes in a casual fall look. You’ll find me running weekend errands in something like this. It’s comfy, yet cute and perfect to run around in when knocking off those to-dos!
