16 Red Dresses For Valentine's Day
L'amour. Love. Amor. حُب. Rakkaus. Amore. любовь.
As it is often said, love is the universal language, the language that transcends all boundaries.
And here all of this time I thought it was fashion that transcends all boundaries.
Thankfully, on Valentine's Day, we can combine the two and really start speaking in tongues.
Of course, I know that Valentine's Day often brings stress to some - what to wear, how to wear it, and so on. As a grown woman, I find my worries and concerns are only slightly different than they have been since I was a teenager - and by that I mean thoughts like "does this make my butt look big?" or "I think this strapless dress makes me look like an NFL linebacker, what do you think?"
Naturally, these are questions that my fiancé handles with considerable aplomb, as he has become an old pro at the art of reassurance. Of course, I know that he has no feasible option except to look at me with loving eyes and declare that even in a burlap sack, I would be the sexiest woman in the room. Which he does, of course, without fail.
Down girls, he's taken.
While it's a nice thought, none of us are going to be caught dead in a burlap sack, so it's off to the stores we go, combing through racks of dresses looking for the perfect red dress for our date night. The thing I have come to realize with considerable clarity is that not every dress is cut for every woman, and so the one red dress on the rack is not going to look good on us all, even if we are a perfect size 6.
So, with that, I bring you sixteen different red dresses that you can consider for your hot Valentine's Day date that will have you looking like the sexy vixen that you are. Prepare to turn heads!
Strapless dresses are still something that I am personally unsure of (see NFL Linebacker, above) but it's a look that I think is incredibly sexy and flattering on most women. Bare your shoulders and watch him shiver in delight. In fact, you might be disappointed at how quickly the date itself ends - your dress may be on the floor before you know it.
While I may not be in love with strapless, I am pretty comfortable rockin' the one-shoulder look - and you should too. Not only is it incredibly stylish, but this style looks great on almost any woman. Between the cut and the bold red color, you will feel like the most powerful woman in the room. I'm drooling over the second one - if I could find it fast enough I'd buy it in a heartbeat.
Maybe you're not a fan of your arms, or it's just too darn cold in your neck of the woods to even dream about a strapless or sleeveless dress. Don't worry, there are still lots of very sexy options for you. Check out these hot dresses with sleeves - the one all the way to the left with the flowy sleeves and belt is by far my fave.
Naturally, the best way to play up (or create) a tiny waistline is to choose a dress with a belt. If you aren't comfortable with a more tightly fitting dress on the bottom, then choose one like the second and third ones shown here with a flowy skirt but fitted top and belted waist. You will feel very 50's chic and womanly, which is always a plus on the most romantic night of the year!
Which dress is your favorite? Will you be wearing red this Valentine's Day?
