DIY Halloween Costumes for Women
We're in the final countdown to Halloween.
My house is decorated all in orange and black right now... along with spooky witches, pumpkins and mummies adorning our front stoop. We're getting really excited for the magical night!
We have four Halloween parties that we need to attend this year. One for William's swim team. One adult party. One pre-school party. And one elementary school party that we're helping to host. This is the most "busy" and booked we've ever been for this holiday.
The boys are set.
William's a Star Wars Storm Trooper.
Alexander is Jack Sparrow.
And Henry is Mario.
The costumes are bought and have already been worn every single night. Hey... there is fun in the build up to Halloween.
But the questions remains, "What about mom?"
Now I've already decided that I want to be Rachel Zoe for the elementary school party... but what about for the other events we need to be at. I don't want to be the same thing for each party... and I don't want to spend any additional money on an outfit.
So it's DIY for me! Here are some great costumes that any mom can create for Halloween without breaking the bank and spending money on store bought items. It's funny - sometimes the best costumes are the ones in our closets!
Why not go as a cowgirl? If you have a cowboy hat, jeans, plaid shirt, boots and a handkerchief... you can easily create a fabulous ensemble!
Why not go as a 70's chick? Grab some bell bottoms, a fringe vest, and clogs! You're good to go!
Why not go as Audrey Hepburn? Grab a black dress, black gloves, pearls and sunglasses!
Why not go as a FASHIONISTA? My personal fave... grab some sequins and faux fur and you're GOOD TO GO! Honestly... if someone sees you out with sunglasses on, they're totally going to think you're "somebody!" Bring along a copy of Vogue!
Why not go as a biker chick? Grab a leather jacket, black boots and some skinny jeans! Amp up the makeup baby!
And if you just want some easy, peasy go-to ideas, try one of these:
1. Wear all white and buy some angel wings.
2. Wear all RED and buy some devil ears.
3. Wear all purple and attach some purple balloons to you to be a bunch of grapes.
Enjoy your Holiday and Trick-or-Treat!
