Thinking and Dressing PINK
I am wearing PINK throughout the whole entire month. Every single day, for 31 days, I will wear something pink. It's a challenge I set upon myself to raise additional awareness for Breast Cancer. I have always been passionate about raising awareness, but when my cousin passed away from Breast Cancer 7 years ago, I became even more determined to do everything I could to help spread the word. She left behind 3 little kids and it was heartbreaking to see that happen. I know wearing pink throughout the month of October isn't life-changing, but I do feel that, in a small way, I can help spread awareness in my town and in my community of moms.
I did this last October, too. I remember one day on the playground at my son's school, a fellow mom commented on how pretty my pink top was, and I told her why I was wearing it. She smiled and said, "What a great idea, thank you for sharing that with me." I just remember thinking, "now she's aware..."
I'm trying to inspire people to wear pink with me throughout the whole month of October, but the remark I usually get back from people is, "But I don't own that much pink."
Well... buy some! Because the beauty of October is that many retailers are donating proceeds from sales to Breast Cancer Research Foundations.
