Coney Island Capers and a Crimson Look for Moms
Was anyone else worried when you saw that the designers were being taken to Coney Island on “Project Runway” last week? When I think about Coney Island, the word chic definitely doesn’t come to mind. Just sayin’. I should have known, however, that an unconventional materials challenge was headed our way. My disappointment turned to excitement when I saw that not only were they going to have to create garments that were made from carnival game prizes, but they were also working in pairs. Who doesn’t love a good time challenge?
Helen and Kate were, of course, paired together. Remember when Helen unashamedly called Kate the “B” word? Well, it turns out, that Kate was a lovely partner and together they made magic! They took a slew of red sombrero hats and designed a real work of art. It was no surprise when they took home the win. While, these girls were quite the dream team, there was another pair that together were more of a nightmare.
It’s been obvious from day one that Miranda wasn’t a fan of Timothy’s. Well, that angst came out in full force during the latest challenge. They bickered, they whined and they designed a most unspectacular look. In fact, all of the judges had no problem coming together to declare it the worst look on the runway.
I know I’ve been hard on Timothy in my previous posts, so I won’t say too much now except, he went home and I can’t disagree with that call. Moving on…
Another decision, I was on board with was that of Helen and Kate being named the winners. I would have no problem rockin’ their flirty little crimson frock. So, it’s serving as my inspiration look this week. That color is beyond smokin’ and you can bet I’ll be rockin’ it come fall!
Until next week lovelies…
