Just Say No...To Humidity Induced Frizzy Hair!
Tis the season where my hair becomes my nervous breakdown inducing nemesis and I dream about putting as many chemicals in my hair as possible. Treatments such as Keratin, Brazilian, or the Japanese options all seem to be good options with my hopeless hair. I would do anything to eliminate frizz and feel shiny and new and pulled together. While I salivate at the thought of instant gratification from these treatments, there are some sensible solutions to keep the mane under control without dousing it in formaldehyde, spending big bucks or buzz cutting it off a la Anne Hathaway 2012(no disrespect Anne, but 95 percent of woman can't rock the buzz Tinkerbelle look).
A few quick fix frizz solutions to help your summer hair thrive without the abundance of chemicals burning a hole through your wallet and through your head:
Anti-frizz solution or serum: Quick, portable and sensible, a serum or gel can control the frizz and even add a little shine for the summer. These products are an economical and efficient way to control the little hair wings that pop up uncontrollably every time you attempt to style or blow dry your hair.
Braiding: The braid gets a bad rap. It isn’t juvenile, it isn’t housewife does Heidi yodeling look; it is instead a chic easy way to get your hair out your face. Blake Lively has brought the cool factor back to the braid. It is fierce, fiery and fantastic.
If you can’t beat em, hide em with a hat or head scarf: Invest in a great summer hat or cover your hair with a scarf. Covering your head is not only a great way to accessorize your look but also protects your hair from all the sun damage waiting to fry your hair. Embrace a floppy style here; this is the one place on your body where something floppy should be embraced.
Don't let frizzy follicles kill your mood for mommy’s night out. The “I put my finger in a socket" look is a thing of the past, embrace a quick fix fast. One month of summer left and counting!
