Top Pick for 2012 Fall Trends: Cowboy Booties
I bought my first pair of cowboy boots when I was a freshman in college. A Jersey girl attending school in Boston doesn’t necessarily have a reason to wear cowboy boots, especially ones with multicolored faux snakeskin accents, so they sat in the back of my closet for months.
I finally had the opportunity to debut my over-the-top boots when my family traveled to Phoenix over winter break. To get in the Southwestern spirit, I wore my Western-inspired boots on the plane. Turns out they were more fashionable than functional. As luck would have it, the airline lost my luggage, and I was forced to sight see in those incredibly uncomfortable boots until my parents bought me a pair of sneakers at the local mall.
My blistered feet never wanted to see cowboy boots again…until now.
One of my favorite fashion trends this fall is actually the cowboy-style ankle boot, and I’m especially enamored with the Dicker suede ankle boot by Isabel Marant. Popular with celebrities like Emma Roberts and Kate Bosworth for its versatility, the understated Dicker boot looks fresh with both skinny jeans and miniskirts. And since I spend my day running errands and chasing after a toddler, I particularly appreciate its mid-heel height.
Sadly, Isabel Marant’s Dicker boot is several hundred dollars out of my fall shopping budget, so I researched affordable options that boast the same Western chic appeal. Since the Dicker bootie has been around for several seasons already, there are some really great copy-cat styles available. My only problem now is deciding which pair to pick!
