Tori Spelling Co-Sleeps with Her Kids…And Her Chicken. She Does.
And in other WTF news from the celebrity mom world, Tori Spelling gave us all a glimpse into her somewhat crowded bedroom recently, only to reveal that she co-sleeps with farm animals.
"This is how we sleep... #Kids #Dogs #Chicken," she tweeted, along with a Vine video that featured husband Dean McDermott, her dog Mitzi and her pet chicken, Coco. Oh, and her kids too. You can see two of Spelling and McDermott’s four children (Liam, 6 and Stella, 4) off to the side and snuggled up in their jammies.
Here’s the video:
While I don’t (and never have) co-slept with my kids unless they were sick or we were traveling, it’s not the kids in the bed part that I have a problem with. It’s the chicken in the bed part (plus, also McDermott looks kind of creepy but we can save that for another day) that I have a problem with. Shih Tzus? Fine – Fluffy at the foot of the bed I can handle. But at the risk of pissing animal lovers everywhere off, I think it’s weird and I think it’s gross to sleep with fowl in the same bed as you and the rest of your family. Chickens poop and as far as I know, they cannot be potty trained. And YES, I realize that said chicken is of the Silkie Bantam variety (see above photo) which is equivalent to the lap dog of the chicken world, but even fancy, expensive chickens probably aren’t house trained.
This isn’t the first time the “90210” star has copped to sleeping with pets that are not cats or dogs. In 2011, Spelling told E! News that her pet pig Hank catches some z’s in the family bed too.
