About Me:
I’m a former TV News Anchor, now mother of 2 juggling life as a host, writer, speaker and entrepreneur. I’m a first generation Chinese American raising mixed kids. I blog at The Zen Mom because if you’re a mom, you know motherhood isn’t always so zen. My mission is to empower through wisdom, inspiration and laughter. I love yoga, quotes, good food, TV, my family and things that inspire and make me laugh.
Q&A’s:
Q: How many children do you have?
A: 2, 20 months apart. A 3 1/2 year old boy and 2 year old girl.
Q: Where do you live? (were you born there or how did you end up there?)
A: San Diego. I moved from Los Angeles for an Anchor job 5 years ago. I grew up in (the suburbs of LA) and had been working there on and off since college, but was ready for a new opportunity. When I moved here with my husband we were newlyweds, we now have 2 kids. I love San Diego- it’s a perfect place for life and family, but I still go back to LA often.
Q: What’s your astrological sign?
A: I’m a total Libra. Always striving for balance, yet sometimes indecisive !
Q: If your life was made into a Lifetime Movie, what would it be called?
A: Eat, Live, Laugh.
Q: What is one of your favorite quotes?
A: “Be yourself; everyone else is already taken.” -Oscar Wilde
Q: What TV or movie character are you most like?
A: Depends on the day!
Q: If you could have dinner with three famous people (dead or alive), who would you invite?
A: The Dalai Lama, Lady Gaga, and Chelsea Handler. (How’s that for a party! It would be spiritual, entertaining and funny!)
Q: What is your biggest vice?
A: Sugar. I love sweets!
Q: What makes you feel sexy?
A: When I have time to focus on myself and connect with my husband. That vibrant feeling after a workout, nice shower and when you have time to get ready. A cute outfit and some heels doesn’t hurt either.
Q: What’s your most memorable ballsy moment?
A: In my small market TV reporting days-saying no to an unfair low paying contract, even if that meant losing my job. I had already been a loyal employee for years, but was forced to sign for several more years with no raise or else. I had used up almost all of my savings, but I believed in my skills. A week later I was offered a job back in my hometown of Los Angeles market #2. (Lesson: Listen to your gut and believe in yourself!)
Q: I celebrate life by....
A: appreciating what I have and not being afraid to go after my goals and create the life I want!
