Candace Lindemann is a published children’s writer and nationally recognized educational expert and consultant. She shares ideas for activities and crafts on Naturally Educational and also blogs about parenting gear and style on Mamanista, military life on Army Wives' Lives, and social media philanthropy on Bloganthropy. When she is not working, chasing after her three lively, young children, or trying to sneak a few moments with her husband, Candace volunteers in her community. Her current dream is to finish an entire cup of tea while it is still hot.

 

 

Q:  How many children do you have?
A: Three: Girl (2006), Boy (2008), and Boy (2011)

Q:  Where do you live?
A: I’m a New Yorker, born and raised, as is most of my family. I was born in Westchester and lived in Manhattan and now I am on Long Island, where my husband grew up. Along the way, we lived in Massachusetts for graduate school and Oklahoma and Texas when he was active duty military.

Q: What’s your astrological sign?
A: Libra…and yes, it is all true.

Q: If your life was made into a Lifetime Movie, what would it be called?
A: Glitter and Glue: A Beautiful Mess

Q: What is one of your favorite quotes?
A: “Speak in French when you can't think of the English for a thing — turn out your toes as you walk — and remember who you are!” –The Red Queen

Q: What TV or movie character are you most like?
Catelyn Stark – fiercely loyal to her family…though hopefully with less disastrous results.

Q: If you could have dinner with three famous people (dead or alive), who would you invite?
A: Jesus (what an opportunity to get the story straight from the source), Theodora (how did a burlesque performer become empress and a Greek Orthodox Saint?), and Mozart (he’s a genius and would probably be lots of fun at dinner).

Q: What is your biggest vice?
A: Dark chocolate, red wine, blue cheese, and buying too many books.

Q: What’s your most memorable ballsy moment?
A:When I picked the lock of the alumna’s house where we were supposed to be having our sorority pledge class retreat. There had been a miscommunication and when we arrived the doors were all locked so I used a credit card and a safety pin and got us in. Up until that point my sisters thought I was “the quiet one”. We were all dressed in black as per instructions—what the neighbors must have thought!
