I am a married mom of three young children six years and under. Before entering the blogging world, I worked in higher education for seven years in various capacities. After being laid off in 2007, I went back to school to get my second Master’s degree and starting teaching college courses, which was a lifelong goal. I started www.SavingCentsWithSense.net, a site dedicated to helping families find quality products, store deals, and money saving tips, since I wanted to help others along the path of frugal living.  I also love iced coffees and am currently training for my first 5K.

Q:  How many children do you have?

A: I have three children. My two boys are 6 years and 3 years old and my baby girl will be a year in May.

 

Q:  Where do you live? (were you born there or how did you end up there?)

A: I was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona. I lived in Santa Barbara for four years while obtaining my undergraduate degree. The California weather and beach were amazing, but I ended up moving back to AZ to be with family, and then met my husband!

 

Q: What’s your astrological sign?

A: Virgo!

Q: What is one of your favorite quotes?

A: What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.- Ralph Waldo Emerson

 

Q: What TV or movie character are you most like?

A: Helen Parr, the mom from The Incredibles – because although it is sometimes easy to lose oneself as a mom, she was able to remember who she truly was, while still being the best mom possible. And really, aren’t all moms superheroes?

 

Q: If you could have dinner with three famous people (dead or alive), who would you invite?

A: Drew Barrymore, Angelina Jolie, and Marilyn Monroe

 

Q: What is your biggest vice?

A:  Ice Cream.

 

Q: What makes you feel sexy?

A:  Make up, a new hairdo, and a perfectly fitting “little black dress”. (A little Spanx helps, too!)

 

Q: What’s your most memorable ballsy moment?

A:  Sitting in a job interview for a high-level position, I told the interviewer that I would exceed all her expectations within the first 30 days of being hired. I got the job, and did just that.
