Cyber Monday Tips to Keep You Sane

If you made it through Black Friday, then you can definitely manage through Cyber Monday, which is the Monday after Thanksgiving (11/26/12 this year).

Even though we end up seeing a lot of deals on Black Friday online, Cyber Monday is the “official” kick-off of online shopping. In this one day, you’ll find all kinds of deals, and most importantly, many stores will offer free shipping. This is a one-day event but sales usually start at midnight, so you may want to stay up late Sunday night to grab a hot bargain.

Here are a few more tips to help you grab the deals you want on Cyber Monday:

Shop at Stores Offering Free Shipping
Enough retailers want business that they will be offering free shipping on Monday, so there is no need to shop at those that don’t offer this perk. Some will have a minimum purchase requirement, so make sure you check the fine print to see any restrictions.

Check a Store’s Return Policy
When you are buying great deals on clothes, shoes, or other items that just may not work once it arrives home (due to size, color, etc), it is a good idea to make sure that you will be able to return it to the store and without cost to you. Some stores will allow you to return it to an in-person store location, so you can go to exchange the product for a different size or color.

Use Coupon Codes
You can use coupon codes on already reduced prices to save even more. If the store isn’t already offering free shipping that day, a code might help you get that. Savings.com or RetailMeNot.com are good resources for finding coupon codes.

Use Cash Back Sites to Save While You Shop
When you shop through a cash back site, many times you’ll be able to find codes to save, plus you can get back a percentage of your purchase back in cash or other rewards. Sites like Ebates send you a check with all your cash back 4 times per year. Plus, if you are new to using them, they have a fun promotion where you can get a $10 gift card (from either Barnes & Noble, Target, The Home Depot, or Magazines.com) when you make your first $25 purchase.

And if you don’t get the exact deal you want, don’t worry, we will see many different sales all December long – plus, December 17 is FREE Shipping Day to get all those last minute gifts!
