Make Your Own Signature Cocoa, Tea and Lattes
I have a favorite fall beverage. It's not the famed Pumpkin Spice Latte that has everyone swinging their hips and running to the local coffee shop for. Instead, mine is a gingerbread latte. I like the spice and the kick the ginger gives it. It tastes like a cup of Christmas, and every year I mourn when they are finished for the season.
My daughter also has a winter beverage battle, but hers is with salted caramel hot chocolates. The slightly salty comfort drink is a favorite to enjoy coming home from basketball games played on cold weekend mornings.
At holiday gatherings in my family there must always be a giant pot of cider on the stove, complete with orange peels, clove and cinnamon sticks. My husband, however, will be the one looking for the eggnog.
No matter what beverage you choose to curl up with this season, do yourself and your wallet a favor and try making them at home. You may end up surprised at how authentic you can get or how much better you like your version than the one from the barista.
What are your favorite beverages to warm up with when the weather turns cold?
