Five Minute Holiday Dessert - Really!
During the holidays, we often find ourselves pressed for extra time. Between all the shopping, wrapping, decorating and parties, sometimes we simply run out of time to prepare dessert. With Thanksgiving tomorrow and Christmas right around the corner, it's always nice to have a quick dessert to have on hand for guests that might stop by, or even to take to a party.
This 5 Minute Dessert begins with a store bought pie and whipped topping. I know what you are thinking, store bought? Well...sometimes, we just simply run out of time, and a store bought dessert will just have to do. Now, of course, if you have a little extra time to make your own, that's fine too, this dessert is really all about presentation.
The containers that are available now are really fun. These little plastic tea cups came from Party City, where they have tons of different sizes and styles. I have also used small votive candle holders and mason jars in the past.
This time I added Caramel Apple Pie, just scoop it with a cookie dough scoop and top it with whipped topping. To give the whipped topping a little extra flavor I folded in a sprinkle of cinnamon and then gave the topping another sprinkle of cinnamon and sugar mixture after adding it to the pie.
Serve with a small spoon and you have a fun little dessert in less than 5 minutes.
