Green Apple "Green" Smoothie
This green smoothie is delicious! I love the tart taste of the granny smith apple with the banana. The coconut milk makes it creamy! It is a great source of fiber too! I love to start my week with this green smoothie. An apple a day keeps the doctor away and you never realize you are eating one when you're drinking it.
The lemon essential oil takes the bite out of the greens. It also provides extra detoxification. I suggest using a Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade that is safe for consumption, like doTerra.
2 cups coconut milk (or milk of your choice)
½ cup water
1 large handful spinach
2 drops lemon essential oil
1 green apple (remove core but leave peel on)
1/2 tsp or 1 drop of cinnamon essential oil
1/2 tsp or 1 drop of ginger essential oil
1 banana, frozen
In a blender combine coconut milk, essential oil and spinach and blend
Add apple, banana, cinnamon, ginger and blend
The green smoothie can be made in advance the night before and enjoyed first thing in the morning if you are tight on time (don't prepare longer than 24 hours before consuming) or it can even be frozen and thawed before drinking.
