The Perfect (and Easy) Thanksgiving Side Dish: Green Beans Almandine Recipe
There are many delicious gluten-free recipes that can be enjoyed at Thanksgiving. Green bean casserole is a classic Thanksgiving dish, but unfortunately it is full of gluten. Green beans almandine is a simple, healthy alternative that is well liked.
At many gatherings, a roast turkey will be the center of attention. Fresh turkeys are gluten free, but if the turkey is being cooked in an oven bag, be sure that the flour added to the bag is gluten free. Rice flour works well, and corn starch could also be used.

Green Beans Almandine Recipe
- 10 ounces fresh or frozen green beans
- 2 Tablespoons butter or margarine
- 1/4 cup sliced almonds
- salt and pepper to taste
Steam the green beans until just tender.
In a skillet, melt the butter or margarine and add the almonds. Stir to coat the almonds. Heat and stir until the almonds are lightly browned. Be careful not to burn them.
Toss everything together and serve.
