4 Travel Products You Will Enjoy At Home Too

I am writing this post on a US Airways flight from Philadelphia to Nashville. I’m on my way to the Blissdom Conference, a women’s blogging conference, which several of us Lifetime Moms channel editors are attending, many even as speakers. I travel for work or pleasure at least twice a month, and wanted to share some great products that I either want to purchase or have found to be great to have. This should come as a no surprise, but the things I like while traveling, are the same things that I enjoy at home as well.

PowerMat wireless iPhone travel charger. The travel version of the PowerMat is compact travelmate. You can charge your iPhone, Blackberry, iPod and/or gaming systems all at the same time (max. of three simultaneously). This also comes in handy at home for easy charging. Just plug the mat in at your hotel room and charge your and your roommate’s phones easily. Note: you will have to have a PowerMat cover for the devices to charge them, sold separately.

Note: and of course, I don’t know how I could travel without my iPhone.

Magazine subscription. I can easily spend 10-15 dollars buying magazines at airports on each trip. With the same money you can subscribe to several magazines for a full year. If you know you will be traveling – save your magazine for the trip, and if you are staying home- well, enjoy the read at home!

Note: If magazines are not your thing, consider a Kindle, an electronic reading device that will allow you to bring your favorite 250 books with you -- but only at one third of the weight of one.

Bose noise canceling headphones. I didn’t really know what the fuss was until I tried a pair. Now I don’t wonder why everyone at first class and in coach is using them, I want to join in the Bose club. And they definitely are a product any mom could enjoy at home too.

Note: You’ll of course need a music player as well, and a nice sized music library to keep you entertained.

Large Lands' End tote. While I have several small suitcases with wheels and even easy laptop bag with wheels, I often like to take my large Lands' End tote when I travel. It is so easy to find my things from it, and I like to keep it as my backup bag. You know – you’ll always come home with more things that when you left, the Lands’ End Tote will fit souvenir and another inside. It is also the ultimate beach bag, shopper, ski boot bag and pretty-much-everything bag at home. I don’t know how I survived without it before I had it.

Note: Lands’ End offers also wheelie bags that will match your tote.

PS. if you're in need of a vacation, remember to participate in the Disney trip giveaway at the Just for Fun channel.
