The Clean Start Challenge 2010 is Here!

I have been blogging at Skimbaco Lifestyle almost three years, and ever since I started, I have been writing about design, style, fashion, travel and little bit of everything and not really defining my niche. But one thing has always remained the same, I have wanted to inspire and feature amazing women.  For example I featured the Lifetime Moms Fashion editor Audrey the first time in my blog already two and half years ago!

Someone once asked me how I define success in my blog, and at the same time asked for my readership numbers. Funny thing is, that I don't really care about numbers. I feel that I am a success if I can inspire or make even one woman to feel good about herself with my posts.  I want to help you to live life to the fullest, and inspire you - whether it is turning your home into your sanctuary, or looking your best in the latest fashions, or enjoying your day whether it is skiing in Colorado or shopping in New York, or anything in between.

I believe everyone can define the success in her own life the same way - we don't have to be perfect mothers, perfect wives and perfect friends - we don't have to try to be perfect in everything we do, if we do, we are setting ourselves for failure. I want to inspire you to do just one thing today that makes you feel good, and to get that I did it!-feeling. Celebrate the accomplishment, however small, and don't dwell on things that are less perfect.

Example: "Hooray, I did the dishes today!" And don't you even think about adding "... but I still need to vacuum, wash laundry and take a shower, and..."

Lifetime's Clean Start is a challenge where four women are making a Clean Start in their lives, and in the process, competing for $10,000. You can follow their progress through new videos every Wednesday for three months, and chat with them about behind-the-scenes details in the myLifetime.com Clean Start Community.  The first month's challenge is sponsored by Glade, and you might like to check out my post how to easily make your home better with products found from grocery store, including some products by Glade!

My finalist buddy is Carolyn Braska from New Jersey, and I can't wait to know more about her. Carolyn is an Army wife who is trying to balance the demands of keeping her house in order and being a wife and a mom. She went from having a fulltime job to being a stay-at-home-mom of three children, including a newborn, and an Army wife, and I can totally relate to her life! Being a stay-at-home-mom isn't as easy as people think, and being an Army wife especially isn't as easy as people think. I am excited to learn more about Carolyn, and to share my experiences of the past ten years, and help her to live life to the fullest with her home, new baby and family.

I would love you to join and follow Carolyn in her journey and vote for her at the Lifetime's Clean Start Challenge - you could win $1,000 for yourself! You can vote daily to win!
