Halloween Party? Who Ya Gonna Call?

This year it has been my 6-year-old son who is getting our whole family in the spirit of Halloween. He has known for a few months now who he wants to be for Halloween: Dr. Peter Venkman.

Yes, The Peter Venkman, Bill Murray’s famous character of the 80’s movie Ghostbusters.

This week my son’s Ghostbusters costume arrived, and there is no turning back now – Halloween season has entered our house -- the costume reminds me of it every day. It’s time to get your Halloween decorations up and start planning a Halloween party!

Halloween Invitation

There are so many great resources online to find party-planning ideas and get supplies to throw almost any themed party. One of these sites is MyPunchbowl.com.  I especially like their selection of free Halloween party invitation templates. They have around 20 templates, but they are so easy to customize that you can easily design the perfect invitation for your spooktacular Halloween party.

MyPunchbowl.com also sells party supplies and offers party planning ideas and even recipes, like the Black Eye Punch.

Punch

Halloween Brew: Black Eye Punch

2 cups of sugar

3 quarts of water

1 13-ounce envelope of unsweetened grape soft drink mix

1 13-ounce envelope of unsweetened orange soft drink mix

Stir until all of the ingredients are completely dissolved.

Right before serving, add in 1 liter of ginger ale and several pieces of eyeball candy to float on top of the punch.

Watch out, you will creep out your guests!
