10 Stylish One-Piece Swimsuits for the Pool
Now that I’m a mom, I’m less concerned about tan lines and turning heads than I am about grabby baby hands and potential nip slips. So I’m packing up my string bikinis and declaring 2012 the summer of the one-piece swimsuit.
In searching for full-coverage bathing suits, I had one strict requirement: Because I have an 11-month-old who clings to my neck in the water, it could not have any strings that could be accidentally untied. I wanted something I could feel comfortable wearing while splashing around with him in the children’s pool or holding him in the big pool.
Resigned to wearing a solid color Speedo all summer, I was happily surprised to find many flattering options that met my criteria. It seems designers have finally realized that there are many of us who prefer our bathing suits to not look like lingerie but don’t want them to look frumpy or matronly either.
Here are ten of my favorite one-piece swimsuits that are both stylish and appropriate for the baby pool.
