Budget DIY Projects: Furniture & Home Decor

Just a few weeks ago, I moved to a new apartment with my 4 1/2 year old son and my boyfriend. Since we were merging families AND homes, deciding on decor was another piece we (er, *I*) had to navigate through. In an effort to save money and do what I love (which is get crafty and creative!) I came up with a couple of solutions for maximizing space and adding design to furniture and rooms. From assembling and painting my own dressers, building shelves and covering up storage space with curtains, I think I came up with some great DIY projects that will hopefully inspire you too.
