Capricorn Mom Horoscope: May 21 – May 27
With the Sun now in your sixth house of self-care, Capricorn, this week (and the next month, actually, while the Sun's in this position) is the pivotal time to get back on track in terms of your health. Listen, mamas: we know how busy you are, and as a Capricorn, you're probably more structured than most people you know. But does that mean you're off the hook when it comes to ending bad habits and starting new, healthier routines? Not by a long shot. And here's the best way to go about this process: make it enjoyable! Scout out the best grocery stores and farmers markets in your area, and spend time roaming the aisles and stalls searching out the best produce for the best prices; then, sit down with your kids and go through cookbook after cookbook, finding healthy recipes that the whole family will enjoy.
Want to start exercising more and finally burn off that baby weight from, oh, five years ago? Forget gyms that leave you wondering why people wear makeup to workout (sorry, pet peeve), and instead, find a down-to-earth place that provides you with the classes and services you love. Try your local YMCA or community center—not only will they have some different classes for you to try, but they may even have babysitting services or summer camp programs for your little ones. Bonus!
Now's the perfect time to get those doctors' appointments on the calendar (for yourself and for the rest of your crew), and maybe even address some of those lingering health problems (stomach aches, menstrual cramps, etc.) with a trip to a holistic health practitioner. An amazing herbalist or acupuncturist could become your go-to source of support for anything that Western medicine can't seem to completely address.
And speaking of support, 'o ambitious one—have you bitten off a bit more than you can chew when it comes to your daily habits and responsibilities? Find some ways now to give your schedule the breathing room it needs: treat yourself to a babysitter a few mornings or evenings a week so that you can get in your workout or take care of biz, streamline your work schedule so that you're not coming home just to open up your laptop, and ask your hubby to take over breakfast or dinner duty a few times a week so that you can relax with the kiddies. Beware your inner perfectionist (we know, as a Capricorn that can be difficult); but seriously, being too hard on yourself, your marriage, and especially your kids is no way to meet those ever-so-high expectations. Strive for workability now, as well as flexibility. "Balance" is almost impossible to achieve for busy moms—focus on "making it work" instead.
