Celebrating Women Entrepreneurs: Kelly Alflen, Founder of Scrabble Babble!

Congratulations to Kelly Alflen, founder of Scrabble Babble and winner of the Tampa Lifetime Moms/Spark & Hustle Contest!!

Kelly shares with us her road to becoming an entrepreneur and little bit about her company.

First and foremost I am a mom. A very blessed mom to three amazing children.

Life took our family on an unexpected turn and I found myself a single mom. When my teaching salary was not enough to cover the household expenses anymore, my kids and I decided we had to come up with a way to bring in additional income.

I remember placing little tokens of faith around the house for my children and myself that reminded all of us that we would get through this situation we were in. It was during this time that we thought we would love to offer something for others that would also encourage, inspire and uplift them to be able to express themselves during troubled times.

This was the beginning of Scrabble Babble Boutique. At first we tried various ways to make the scrabble tile pendants using different materials. Our goal was to be able to provide excellent customer service along with fast delivery of the product. We were able to find a way through trial and error to produce the product and get it shipped out within 24 hours.

Having this business has been a real blessing to my family. We now know that when God closes a door to a chapter in your life he will open a bigger and better one!
