Ever since I became a mama, living a greener lifestyle has become more important to me. It all began when I started shopping for my lil’ guy when he was still chillin’ in my tummy. I just felt better about the idea of putting natural, organic fibers against my precious baby’s skin versus less earth friendly materials. Now that I’m expecting bambino number two, I’m feeling even more eco inspired. I typically pay more attention to my wee ones’ clothes and linens than I do my own. Isn’t that always the way of it though? Our kiddos come first right? That doesn’t mean I can’t make more of an effort when it comes to shopping for myself however.
I’m sure you’ve noticed that buying eco-friendly clothing tends to be more expensive. I’ve invested in a couple of fabulous Gypsy 05 organic pieces, but I can’t live in those items alone, so I’ve tried to find other ways to be eco-conscious when it comes to my wardrobe.
Shopping my closet instead of always running out to buy something new and visiting vintage shops and thrift stores are great, budget friendly ways to limit your carbon footprint. And even if I’m itchin’ for a new piece or two, checking out the sale rack has resulted in some gorgeous eco friendly finds for moi! On a recent visit to a socially conscious boutique in Sarasota called Juno & Jove, I scored a couple of gorgeous bangles for $10.00 each.

How do you fit being eco-conscious into your life?
