A Pair of Shorts For Every Shape

In the past, shorts were not exactly my friend. As I got older, especially after I had my first kiddo, I noticed pesky spider veins cropping up on my thighs. Putting those bad boys on display wasn’t overly appealing, so I pretty much abandoned shorts for a few years.

However, last year I realized that I had been breaking one of my personal style rules. Don’t rule anything out until you try it! I hadn’t even attempted to wear shorts after my spider veins freak out.  So, I took the plunge and bought some. I realized that by rockin’ Bermudas, I could hide my spider veins. And I didn’t have to abandon short shorts all together as I could confidently wear them with tights in the fall and winter. It was liberating to be able to sport a type of clothing I thought was closed off to me forever!

So, who else has been scared of shorts? I completely understand your dilemma and it’s my goal to get you back into shorts and showin’ off those fabulous stems of yours STAT! I’ve found some that will work for several different body types. I’ve also paired them with pieces that will flatter each body type.

And away we go…

For long torsos and straight shapes: High waisted paper bag style shorts balance a long torso and add curves to ruler type body shapes. Wearing them with a fitted tank or tee will let the shorts shine!

For tummy troubles and short torsos: Boyfriend shorts that sit below the waist help camouflage tummies by not cutting into the dreaded muffin top (just make sure they aren’t too tight) and they will also lengthen a short torso. Styling them with a not too tight, yet not too loose tank or tee won’t add unwanted volume or cling to problem areas.

For petite frames: Short shorts look amazing on smaller frames. Adding a pair of nude sandals will make legs look miles long!

For plus sizes: Straight Bermuda shorts will give a plus sized figure coverage while showing off curves. Adding heels will create a slimming effect!
