Congratulations to Joan Henehan, founder of Clouds and Stars and winner of our Lifetime Moms/Spark & Hustle Contest! 

Joan tells us a little bit about herself and her business.

Together with my Clouds and Stars, Inc. business partner Elizabeth Sopher, we designed the QuickZip™ Crib Sheet, an infant-safe two-piece sheet with a base and zip-off top panel that securely encloses the mattress for easy and quick changing.

We started our business by designing, patenting and manufacturing the QuickZip® Crib Sheet. Our business has grown significantly and we are expanding into other bedding markets including special needs, college, recreational and home-health/elder-care. I worked as an engineer for Dow Chemical after graduating from college years ago. I also worked as a consultant in the environmental business for several years prior to having children.

After years of working together and then having kids, my business partner and I decided to engineer a solution to the frustrating task of changing a crib sheet. We now sell on amazon.com, bedbathandbeyond.com, target.com, in addition to numerous other stores. I was a 2011 M3 1000 award winner and a 2010 recipient of the Huggies Mom Inspired Grant Program. Our business mission is to find simple solutions for tedious chores by developing time saving products – from “Sheets re-imagined” to “Life re-imagined”! I am enjoying the entire process of creating a profitable business around a unique and award-winning product.
