Judge Orders Deadbeat Dad to Stop Procreating
An Ohio man just received a rare order from a judge regarding his probation. 35-year-old Asim Taylor was told from the judge to stop having kids. Taylor owes almost $100,000 in child support for his four children, and until he pays that dept off, the judge has sentenced him to an additional 5 years probation with the order to not “impregnate” another woman.
Taylor’s lawyer says this is a violation of his client’s right to privacy and the basic rights of being able to engage in sexual intercourse.
My question to that lawyer is this: What happened to safe sex? The judge didn’t say that he can’t have sexual contact; he just said that he can’t have more children. I think we all learned in sex ed back in high school that there are plenty of types of protection that can be used. Until this man shows that he is a responsible adult that can care for his current children, I agree with the judge, he should NOT be having more kids.
And I think MORE judges should think about giving this order. Absentee fathers need to be held accountable for the responsibilities they hold to their children.
What do you think? Is this a violation of this man’s rights or is it a legitimate order to get him to take his responsibilities seriously?
