One Designer Down…Interview With Eliminated "Project Runway All Stars" Designer
The first episode of Project Runway All Stars has come and gone and I don’t know about you guys, but I thoroughly enjoyed my reality TV me time, courtesy of Lifetime, on Thursday. Thanks to a hubs who completely understands when mama needs a break, le toddler was kept busy while I scarfed down some goodies and talked to the TV. Yeah, that’s right…I talk to the TV. I tell the designers when I dig or not so much dig their designs. I tell the judges when I think they’re off their rockers. Basically, I have a full on convo with my television. Doesn’t everybody do that? As shocking as it may be, this is all done minus adult beverages. Well, this season anyway. I wasn’t preggers during most of the previous seasons. Just sayin’.
Well lovelies…per my previous prediction, Elisa was the first designer to be sent packing. Maybe I do have a little Miss Cleo in me after all? Haha!
Speaking of not loving a particular design, Elisa’s was not my favorite. I agreed with Angela in that the writing on the garment was an unnecessary element. That being said, I can respect her creative process, as unconventional as it is.
I had a chance to catch up with Elisa last week and according to her, those unconventional methods just might have been her undoing. She noted that, “when the first thing that Joanna Coles says to you in the workroom is about your method…that’s telling.” She went on to say that “I think my ideologies have made it difficult for people to totally understand or accept the final product. They feel like they have to critique the process.”
She has no regrets, however, and believes that her unique methods put her in “the perfect position to compete” in competitions like Project Runway. Better luck next time Elisa!
So, who do you think will be the next to go? My money is on Michael. His lack of confidence isn’t doing him any favors. Hopefully he mans up and realizes that he was included in the All Stars cast for a reason. Next week should be interesting, no?
Don’t forget to check out Project Runway alum Laura Bennett’s episode recaps! She’s a hoot!
