A "Project Runway All Stars" Inspired Look for Moms

If you watched the latest episode of Project Runway All Stars, you know that the designers were tasked with constructing a look for one of the most famous divas in the world…Yep, that’s right…They had the opportunity to dress the one and only Miss Piggy!

I have a special place in my heart for that pretty puppet. When I was a toddler, I had a Miss Piggy doll who was decked out in a gorgeous lavender gown and elbow length gloves. I took her everywhere. I daresay that was the start of my fashion obsession! So, in honor of my beloved Miss Piggy, I decided to create an ensemble inspired by the look the winning designer created for her. If you haven’t yet watched the episode, stop reading this NOW and watch it or check out PR alum Laura Bennett’s recap!

Michael took the prize last week with a black and pink bow-bedecked mini dress. It was a lovely garment and I wish I could say that I would be comfortable rockin’ it, but let’s be real…I’m a thirty (ahem) something girl and a dress that teeny tiny isn’t likely to be gracing my bod anytime soon. The fact that my large and in charge baby bump grows exponentially with every passing moment, isn’t helping the matter either. That doesn’t mean I can’t draw inspiration from the garment’s color palette and uber pretty details however!

Making the look appropriate for most of us regular gals wasn’t all that difficult in fact. I found a print tunic with similar hues as Michael’s dress and styled it with faux leather pants and bow bedecked pumps. Seeing as a cocktail ring is one of my signature pieces, I had to include one of those as well! You may remember when I voiced my love for sturdy rings in a previous post on dressing your post-baby bod. Little ones have a heckuva time wrecking them. Believe me…my little guy has tried! Haha!
