Back at the Bottom and Duet Decisions (My Episode 8, Season 3 Recap)

Chloe and Christi's return to the studio completed our team but it was clear that something was very different! The vibe at the studio was definitely off.  You could feel the tension in the room. What was brewing? I was not looking forward to finding out or to the pyramid reveal!

There it was - Nia at the bottom of the pyramid. How unfair-not unexpected but so undeserved! Abby punished Nia for my actions. A double unearned penalty since last week Abby had pulled the duet punishing both Nia and Paige without cause. Dreadful but moral outrage is pointless when a person doesn't get or care about your point! Just one more thing to add to the brew!

I was incredibly proud of Nia. Nia took the initiative and asked Abby for the duet back proving that being flat on the bottom (of the pyramid) doesn't mean that you are flat on your bottom! Nia made the decision to ask Abby for the duet without asking me for any help. I was pleased to see her poise, confidence, maturity and courage! Nia loves to dance and she does not want to miss an opportunity to do so. Nia's inspiration is dance!

No surprise that Abby took her time in making her decision about whether the duet could perform. I was nervous that the duet would not be prepared for the competition. Yet, we all needed to move on from last week and the duet was unfinished business. The girls needed to perform the duet well and they did. A fourth place in the overalls was impressive. The competition was tough but the duet scored in the top 5. After last week’s experience I was thrilled. Honestly, I think the moment the girls set foot on stage they had already won!

Nia scored a major personal victory because she had to confront Abby to ask for the duet back.  Abby and Nia had a heart to heart talk and Abby explained her reasoning for pulling the duet.  Although I still disagree with her actions and reasoning, I appreciate Abby explaining to Nia that she did nothing wrong to warrant Abby’s actions and punishment.  I believe that it was Abby’s way of apologizing.  Abby knows it- even though Abby will never admit it.  The brew was a little sweeter! The first place win was a great way to end the week! Christi and Kelly are always on board - at times we all have had bumpy rides!
