Project Runway
Disco Divas and a Glitzy Look for Moms
I’m back lovelies and pumped to be chatting about Project Runway All Stars once again. I just love it when they gather up PR superstars and throw them together! This time around, the competition is especially fierce!
In the first episode, we said goodbye to our favorite nurturer Peach. In the second episode, the designer who was sent home didn’t exactly have the same sweet reputation. Surprisingly, she didn’t quite live up to the wicked awful rep that she came away with after appearing on the first season of Project Runway…but more on that later.
The latest challenge that the designers were issued was definitely one that this Donna Summer lovin’ girl appreciated! They were tasked with selecting a pair of shoes courtesy of Nine West and using said foot candy as part of a disco inspired look. I know not everyone digs seventies style and/or music, but I big puffy heart both! Think Abba and Michelle Pfeiffer in Scarface…Those are my jams!
So, most of the designers were psyched about tackling the disco challenge, but there were definitely some missteps! Andre made the same organza mistake that he did in episode one and it was an error that nearly sent him packing. Lucky for him Wendy’s somewhat tacky interpretation of seventies style goin’ out wear was more offensive to the judges. I was sorry to see her go as it was a much calmer and kinder Wendy that we were presented with in comparison to the one we saw in season one.
Two looks that the judges didn’t turn their noses up at came from Uli and Ivy. Uli’s white fringed creation was beyond divine and I would rock Ivy’s emerald and gold frock any day of the week…After I worked out my stems a bit more that is. Hot pants require fierce gams. Just sayin’!
I find the color combo that Ivy used to be beyond holiday party perfect, so I used it for my episode inspired look this week. I’m not the only one who’s already got holiday soirees on her mind am I?!?
