Don't Judge! (My 'Dance Moms: Miami' Epsiode 3 recap)

This week’s theme, “insecurities” was an emotional one....for all those involved.  As we watched the group exercise where the kids addressed what they are insecure about, I was getting teary-eyed.  I was mainly upset about what was going on inside the viewing room, with the moms.  A heated conversation had begun about Hannah's insecurity and I was upset about it.

When Kimmy got the solo I was excited and nervous. I have no doubt Kimmy can perform and while I agree that Kimmy is a very technical dancer, that is a far cry from being mechanical as victor and Angel suggested.  I was more concerned about it being her first solo with the team and the pressure she would put on herself to do well.  I know she felt as though she had something to prove.

Brigette suggested that maybe I make Kimmy more nervous but I don’t agree.  I do get a little worked up about it but I make a conscious effort to never let Kimmy see me sweat. We had some laughs when the kids imitated us moms, and I think they were spot on.  Kids will always tell it like it is....fortunately or unfortunately.  I thought they were all adorable, though.

On competition day I thought Kimmy did beautifully in her solo.  Quite frankly I thought they all did well.  I saw Lucas' little wobble but I didn't feel he deserved not to place. The rest of his solo was impeccable, so I thought.  Sammy also did amazing in my eyes. When they were calling out placement, I couldn't make heads or tails about what was going on. This is why I accept whatever comes Kimmy's way with great resolve. Judges are undoubtedly the professionals, not me.

The issue of "sabotage" came up after the group number and I thought there was a lot of tension and paranoia. I imagine that Abby probably thought that the reason Sammy hadn't placed was because her choreography had been compromised in some way. She is relatively new at the studio and has had little time to build a trusting relationship with Victor and Angel. She will realize soon enough that these two instructors have an unwavering loyalty to ALL their dancers.
