Project Runway
Heidi’s Big Surprise and a Bright Look for Moms
So, who else would like to see the judges throw a wrench into things and switch up the teams on “Project Runway”? Watching the Dream Team crash and burn each week is downright depressing. It’s not like their completely devoid of talent. They just can’t seem to pull together and make the right decisions.
The latest challenge came from none other than Ms. Klum herself. The designers were asked to create several looks for promotion of Heidi’s new fragrance Surprise. Now if I were the designers, this is not a challenge I would want to screw up on. Keeping Heidi happy can take you a long way on “Project Runway”. She is a woman with strong opinions and I have to say that most of the time I agree with them! After 11 seasons at the helm of “Project Runway”, that lady knows what’s up.
The losing designer was probably no surprise to anyone. It’s hard to be in the bottom three weeks in a row, like Cindy was and stick around. I think Cindy’s fate was sealed with the first cut of that dreadful fabric. I didn’t like iridescent taffeta when it was “in style” in the nineties and I certainly can’t get behind it now. How sweet was Kristin Davis to say that she remembers Charlotte York wearing material like that fifteen years ago. She’s kidding right? My Charlotte would never! Haha! I’m taken to a bad bridesmaid kinda place the second I see fabric like that. Who’s with me? Benjamin should really call Cindy up and thank her because the tragic strapped down bust on his garment would surely have sent him home.
Team Keeping it Real took home another team win with Kate, Layana and Daniel all winning for their designs. Clearly, I didn’t use the same color palettes in my look that the winning designers used, but I did use Daniel’s gorgeous leather trimmed dress as inspiration. Leather is a HOT trend for spring. I love the trim on this electric blue number and I threw in the Barbie pink bag for another fun pop of color. I know that a lot of you Northerners have been dealing with some pretty gnarly weather, so I thought bright hues would cheer you up!
So, will you be rockin’ leather this spring lovelies?
