Let’s Hug it Out and a Trendy Look for Moms
When I saw the preview for the “Project Runway” reunion special, I expected fireworks! It wasn’t quite as dramatic as I thought it was going to be. For the most part, it seemed like the designers just wanted to stay in a good place and even if they didn’t love what certain people said about them, they didn’t want to start a world war over it. That’s not to say that people didn’t voice their displeasure. Michelle was still clearly annoyed with Daniel over the way he had wigged out on her and Daniel insinuated that perhaps she hadn’t been genuine on camera. But that was the tensest moment that we saw and it wasn’t even that bad.
Much was made about Kate’s numerous comments about Michelle, Layana and Amanda being mean girls, but she actually apologized to Amanda and owned up to her own bitchiness saying that they all had it in them to be “nice bitches.”
I think what we learned from this reunion was that while there were some hurt feelings, they’re just “a big dysfunctional family,” as Kate put it. They’ll forever be connected for having gone through something together as major as being on "Project Runway". I don’t know about you, but I was left with some warm and fuzzies! And I’m super excited about a potential Michelle and Stanley collaboration. Something amazing is sure to come from Michelle’s coolness being combined with Stanley’s beautifully feminine aesthetic.
For our final season eleven inspiration look, I pulled colors from some of my favorite outfits from the special….and they just so happen to be some trends that are HOT hot hot for summer! Layana wore a beautiful cobalt frock and the host, Zanna Roberts Rass, rocked some fabulous bold stripes, so I styled those along with a pop o’ pink. Grab your girls and head out on the town, because this look was made to dance the night away lovelies!
