Project Runway

A Midnight Depature and a Day Into Evening Look

I know we got a little hint from the preview of what was going to happen on the latest "Project Runway" episode, but the events that unfolded were still somewhat shocking no? To work as hard as you must have to work to end up on "Project Runway" only to bail in the middle of the night like Andrea did…I just don’t get it. So many other designers would have died to be in that position. I would love to know what was going through her head.

At least Kooan told everyone face to face. Still, why would you commit to something and not try to see it through? I guess you can’t possibly know how someone feels until you’re in same position as them yourself. Seeing as it’s unlikely that I’ll get cast on "Project Runway" anytime soon, I guess I’ll never know. Haha!

Once the self eliminating drama was out of the way, the designers got down to business creating a wearable look for the everyday modern woman. Buffi, in particular, seemed to struggle with a challenge that entailed a design being able to work in a 9 to 5 office setting…and it turned out to be her undoing.

I had the chance to chat with her and when she was asked about her creation she said, “I don't know how to design for the normal everyday woman, it’s true. It feels very awkward and weird to me to dress corporately.”

Although, she understands why she went home this week, she clearly doesn’t understand the departed designers’ decisions to leave. “I'm mad at them for leaving,” she said. “I think they would have gone before me.” She went on to say, “you know what you're getting yourself into,” and “I can’t imagine doing that.” Indeed Buffi. Indeed.

I decided to style this week’s challenge inspired look around Christopher’s design. Despite his criticism of her in this episode, Buffi had nothing but good things to say about him. When asked who she thought would make it to the end Christopher was the first designer she mentioned. “I’ve always been in love with Chris,” she replied.

Black & blue and leather are big trends for fall. I love the way Christopher paired his look with bright blue heels and I’m always a fan of the edgy leather jacket plus feminine frock combination!
