After the assignments were given this week, I was very pleased that Sammy had a solo. Sammy had never done a jazz solo so we were both excited to see how she would do. I was a little nervous because jazz doesn’t always place as high, but I knew Sammy would have fun with it. Truthfully I didn’t even think about Sammy competing against Hannah because I was more concerned about the LA competition since Sammy had never competed there before.

 

 

Victor and Angel argued a lot about choreography but it didn’t really bother me because I know that they each want the best for Sammy. I think Angel was just kidding when he asked Sammy whose choreography she liked better. When Susan asked Victor and Angel if Jessi could do an improv solo at the competition, it didn't bother me -- it’s none of my business. However, I found it very rude when Susan said that Jessi is the best dancer in front of all of the other kids and moms.

 

 

It was so exciting to watch Sammy's solo. Every time she's on stage it's like I am watching her for the first time, I really enjoy it.  I was so happy for her -- it was her first win with her new Stars studio.As for Hannah and Debi, we are a part of the same team now so I was very happy for Hannah that she placed in the top 5. But I'm sure the feelings were not mutual.

 


After the competition, Mayra brought up Jessi and said she deserves to be on top. Again, I felt it was rude for an adult to say things like that in front of all the children. So when Sammy responded that she can do anything Jessi can, she was just defending herself against rude adults. All the children in the room work hard and have accomplished a lot over the years, so it's not nice to compare them when they are all different ages! The Stars competition team is a new experience for me and Sammy, there is a lot of drama here caused by the adults.  It's very shocking to me!!!!
