My "City Boy” (Dance Moms: Miami Episode 2 Recap)
I was really happy that Lucas was moved up on the list and got a solo. I am very grateful to Angel and Victor for all they have taught Lucas and I guess they felt he was ready to perform. I love seeing my son dance and am truly in awe and speechless when he steps on a stage. It makes me happy that he can share the beauty of dance and the artist that he is with others.
I know Susan was extremely upset that Jessie was removed from top of the list. So when she disappeared, I think we all just figured she was outside lecturing Jessie as usual or maybe even making her practice more.
There was also a lot of bickering between Victor and Angel. They were arguing over a lift in Jessie’s dance; I understand the stress because in practice Lucas had missed a few times and his timing was off. I think more practice was all that was needed but sometimes, when in doubt, Angel would rather remove that part and Victor wouldn’t.
As far as the competition, I loved Lucas’ solo music and choreography and think he executed it beautifully. There was a lot of emotion in it and it was clearly exhibited. He placed second to Sammy and considering it was an ages 12 and under category and he was only 1/10 of a point away from first, it was truly a honor.

I think Lucas loves the spotlight just as any other child does. The group number was about a city boy who was surrounded by a bunch of girls, so I think he really got a kick out of all the attention from the girls. I really loved this number and not just because it was about Lucas --but that didn't hurt! I also really loved the song and the lyrics.
