A "Project Runway All Stars" Inspired Look & a Sad Goodbye

Go find muses in Central park and convince them to give you the clothes off their back…That’s what the designers were told last week on "Project Runway All Stars" when they were issued their design challenge. Considering some of the large and in charge personalities in the cast, I knew this particular challenge was going to be a piece of cake for some and a tall order for others.

It wasn’t exactly a shocker that Anthony had no trouble immediately asking a dude to strip down. I can’t be the only one who thinks it would be a blast to hang out with that fella. He’s so freaking funny! As I chilled in my loungewear, leisurely munching on a gigantic piece of chocolate cake, I kind of wished that Anthony was hangin’ out enjoying the episode with me. I think we would become fast friends. Maybe someday…A gal can dream right? By the way, I’m totally aware that most of my posts involve some mention of food. And I’m ok with that. As long as I’m not breaking the scale at my baby bump check-ups…I’m cool!

Ok…back to PR. Despite being able to jump into this challenge headfirst with no fear, Anthony was the unlucky designer to be sent home this week. If I had had a hand in the decision, that SO wouldn’t have happened. Why couldn’t the judges keep around this chick’s favorite source of Project Runway entertainment? Le sigh.

Apparently, the fact that Anthony’s look didn’t use fifty percent of the clothing from his muse was his downfall. According to him, “the challenge changed all the time. It was so inconsistent.” I can see how it wouldn’t necessarily have occurred to him that not using all of his muse’s fabric would have affected his position in the challenge.

When asked if he thought he deserved to be in the bottom, Anthony replied that, “The foundation of the show is fashion design. There definitely should have been someone else eliminated. Michael, for instance, I didn’t think what he designed was amazing.” I tend to agree with him. His garment was definitely more innovative than some of the other designers’. I’m not sure why Kara was safe, for example. Anthony thought it was telling that all the girls on the show were safe this episode. He told us that he “saw all the girls leave and checked out.” What the judges said after that didn’t matter.

He also was quite disappointed with the cattiness that was front and center in this episode. When I questioned whether he thought it was a big deal that Kenley helped Kara with her sewing, he responded with, “I don't think that there is anything wrong with that. After the show, you're going to a need a team of individuals to help you. I thought that it was so weird that other people had an issue with it.” He felt that all the drama “came across as very strategic.”

At the end of the day, as much as we’re all entertained by the drama, I’m glad that cool cats like Anthony are around to show us that genuine people do exist! I know this post has been somewhat of a love fest, but I can’t help it. I LOVE ANTHONY! Can you tell that my pregnancy hormones have kicked into overdrive? Haha!

And before I go, you may remember when I put together a Project Runway All Stars inspired look a couple weeks ago. I quite enjoyed Anthony’s red and black creation, so I decided to style an outfit around that color palette. Plus, with Valentine’s Day is headed our way soon, I thought it was oh so appropriate. Thoughts?
