Project Runway Episode 6: Ven Shows Off His Sparkling Personality!
This week on Project Runway, the designers had to make over a regular person brought in by a friend. A "regular person" means anyone not 5' 10" and size 0. Each of these women seriously needs a new look. Like it's time to ditch the sweatpants and ill fitting clothes.
Now if you remember from last week, Elena was screaming at everyone and was even described by another designer as an animal.
But this week, Ven was determined to take the spotlight away from Elena and be crowned World's Biggest Jerk.
Ven immediately expressed dismay and shock that he was stuck with a size 14 client. He was very depressed that her "wide waistline" was nothing like a model. And he made sure to belittle her by pointing out how the accessory belts were too small and he'd have to request a bigger size. And bonus, he made her cry!
Ven even pointed out to Tim Gunn that she was almost (gasp!) 40. Because we all know that once you hit 40, you should just curl up in your closet with some box wine and a crate of munchkins because your life is pretty much over. Wow Ven. You must really be popular with the ladies. And guess who is also almost 40? The forever gorgeous Heidi Klum. You know, one of the judges.
And Ven did nothing for his sweet client, putting her in this get-up....

Meanwhile, I was immediately worried about Nathan because his client wanted to show off her midriff AND be sophisticated. Oh boy.
And although he only gave her cut out side panels, he still lost with this dress...

I think the genius Michael Kors said it best, "No human being should wear tight satin." Amen to that Michael.
Fabio was the winner. His client showed up wearing jeans and some kind of asexual lumberjack button down and with the help of a L'Oréal Paris makeover, he turned her into this...

Way, way adorable dress!
And I'm already completely jazzed (yes, I just used that word) for next week because in the previews Ven declares, "Men are usually stronger designers." Oh Ven, when will you ever learn?!
