Project Runway Episode 7: The Tears Fall When Designers Compete for the Lord & Taylor Window

There is some serious fashion synergy going on in the world. Yesterday, I bought myself a cute little leopard print dress from Lord & Taylor and then that evening sat down to watch Project Runway where designers had to make a cocktail dress for the store! It's like I have been blessed with some kind of psychic shopping ability.  I can only hope to turn this talent into cash.
So the designers had to come up with a cocktail dress or gown that would fit in with a collection of nine other dresses, made by previous PR designers. And the winner of the challenge gets his or her dress manufactured and sold in Lord & Taylor, plus it will be on display in the store's windows.
Let the epic meltdowns begin!
Elena, Melissa and Sonjia could not get their acts together. Meanwhile, the boys were calm and collected. Christopher was doing his typical silk shredding and Ven was busy with those layered flower things that he likes to put on all his garments. I'm over it Ven, and not just because you think "men are usually stronger designers."
Adorable blue haired Sonjia really started sobbing at one point and the always compassionate and lovely Tim Gunn advised her, "Channel your inner winner." Oh hold me Tim. You are so sweet.
Christopher, the only one to make a gown, was declared the winner for this dress...
It's pretty, but I actually thought there were better dresses like Elena's edgy, cool baby doll harness bondage dress. But maybe it was too Fifty Shades of Grey for Lord & Taylor. Yes, I think definitely.
Fabio really should have won something for his garland headpiece which he wore during the competition. What exactly makes a man decide one morning to wrap garland around his head?
In the end, we were led to believe that Gunnar was getting kicked off because Alicia squeaked by with a dress that was a crossbreed between a Chanel inspired look and a field hockey outfit.
But it turns out, no one had to head to the workroom to clean up their stuff because the judges got all soft and kept everybody! Awww... Let's have a group hug.
Now I did notice that Gunnar and Christopher seem to be competing for who can have the highest hair, and this week I declare Gunnar the winner!!
But don't count Christopher out for next week. I heard he just stocked up on mousse.
