Project Runway
Project Runway Season 10 Finale: Last Chance to Make It Work!
As the Mercedes-Benz Fashion week quickly approaches, all four of the designers left (Dmitry, Christopher, Melissa and Fabio) scramble to make new pieces based on the judges feedback on pieces from their collections.
Christopher is completely lost. He is making a million different things, has no direction and looks a bit like he escaped from a mental institution. Which I sort of thought might be foreshadowing him as the winner of Project Runway.
Melissa is making a complicated dress in a color she describes as "blood orange." Christopher can't help but snidely point out that it's "red."
Meanwhile Fabio and Dmitry are chowing down on dinner and looking completely chill.
Within no time, the designers are headed to Lincoln Center and describe it as a moment of nervousness, excitement and diarrhea. There is the normal amount of chaos backstage. Dmitry's models are taking too long in hair and makeup. Christopher starts hacking away at the bottom of this gown. Melissa suddenly realizes that one of her models can hardly walk in a long white dress. But the show must be begin!
I really liked Christopher's collection which was inspired by his mom's x-ray. Oh, it was also inspired by reconstruction and deconstruction and I can only assume housing construction too. The clothes were dark, moody and cool. But the judges thought he was a little all over the place and felt his romantic gown didn't work with the rest of the collection.

Melissa's collection was cool, sexy and tough but the judges said there was no sense of surprise in her show.

But Guest judge Jennifer Hudson thought Melissa was one of the models so that's a win!
Dmitry's collection was inspired by organic architecture. I don't know about you but I always buy organic architecture. So much healthier! The judges went crazy for Dmitry's clothes, describing them as impeccable, beautiful, well designed, modern, highly editorial and on and on. But I don't know. I just don't find Dmitry's style appealing. But then again, I hardly ever get cravings to wear fringe.

The judges also adored Fabio with his easy, breezy, ethereal clothes.

They applauded him for being a true fashion designer because he knows what people want before they do themselves.
So Fabio's the winner, right?!
Nope. They gave it to Dmitry Sholokhov which was nice because the guy can design clothes. Plus, he had to resign from his job to compete in the competition and he recently lost his lease.
Dmitry wins $100,000 from L’Oréal Paris to start his own line, a fashion spread in Marie Claire magazine, a 2013 Lexus GS 350, a $50,000 technology suite by HP and Intel, and the opportunity to design and sell an exclusive collection at Lord & Taylor.
Wow. That's a lot of loot. Maybe he could at least give the Lexus to poor Fabio?!
And if you've ever questioned by psychic abilities, please remember that I did predict Dmitry as the winner last week.
Now this is the time when I would suddenly start getting shaky and preparing for Project Runway withdrawal, but those glorious execs at Lifetime are saving me because Project Runway All Stars starts next week! Bravo!! I mean, not bravo. Yahoo Lifetime! I can't wait for it to start.
