Sweet Victory and a Water Fight (My Episode 7, Season 3 Recap)

After the Apple Cores beat ALDC by one-tenth of a point last week, it was inevitable that we were going to conquer them at some point … and I was determined for it to happen in Detroit. I was a bit harder on the boys this week – but they responded by working their tails off, which was refreshing. And let me just say how much I love dealing with the Dance DADS! Not only do they give me support and respect, but they come to my defense. The girls that I worked with last season just sat back and observed while I was abused by Abby and the gang from ALDC. These dads have my back and they step up to the plate when I need them.

It was a blast to arrive at the competition in style – our limo pulled up just when ALDC was walking in, and I loved every minute of it. Plus, I immediately noticed that Chloe and Sophia were missing. Chloe is a talented dancer, but you never know what could happen during a competition, so I didn’t think that her absence was going to make or break things for us.

What a THRILL when they announced that the Apple Cores won first place in the group dance. The boys worked hard, and the fact that I beat my arch nemesis was just the icing on the cake. I didn’t mind that Gino only placed eighth for his solo – he still beat Kendall, and let’s face it, Maddie is a force that is tough to top. She’s an outstanding dancer and she’s extremely popular with the judges. So her coming in first place didn’t surprise me.

What DID surprise me was having both Abby and Jill throw water at me afterward. I was stunned, to say the least – in fact, my first thought was that there was a leak in the ceiling. I just couldn’t fathom that they would do that. I was sick all week, and to get soaked to the bone by those two was no fun – but my reliable dads dried me off afterward.

I also want to explain myself about hitting Abby with my bag – the action was more of a SWAT than a hit. She’s been holding her arm ever since, like I seriously injured her. Her flu shot probably hurt more than that!
