Project Runway
The Final Four & a Katie Holmes Inspired Look for Less
We’re down to the final four…Can you believe it? I, for one, am not surprised by the group of designers who’ve made it thus far on this season of "Project Runway All Stars".
I’ve been a fan of Uli’s feminine frocks since her season. Joshua has crazy innovative ideas. Emilio’s taste is flawless. And Anthony Ryan manages to make edgy pieces look sublimely flattering. While I’m definitely behind these four going forward, I hope they bring a little more oomph to their designs next time.

The latest challenge paired the designers with servicewomen who needed a look designed for a specific event that they will be attending. I’m sure it’s difficult to couple their aesthetic with the needs of their client, but I was hoping for a little more wow factor from these designers. But then again...who am I? I would probably throw sparkle all over a look despite the client’s preference…Haha! I mean Emilio’s client was headed to a bachelorette party…Doesn’t that scream for sparkle? Clearly I’m a bit too obsessed with sparkle…but I digress.
There wasn’t anything particularly wrong with any of the looks, so it was obviously too hard for the judges to send someone home on a perfectly fine design. Uli sent one of her signature dresses down the runway. Emilio presented a pretty cute dress considering he had to remake it. Anthony Ryan did his best to work with a client who wanted to her hide her large and in charge bosom. This breastfeeding mama can relate to the pain of trying to accommodate an overly ample chest. TMI? Haha! And it’s hard to fault the heart that Joshua put into his design. Plus, I can definitely get behind an animal print. RAWR!
I can’t wait to see what they have in store for us next week, because these four have talent oozing out of their ears and I know it’s in them to really knock our socks off!
Instead of styling a look based on one of the designers’ garments, I decided to use guest judge Katie Holmes as my inspiration. The dark color palette of her ensemble paired with statement shoes and a sleek ponytail spoke to me! I inserted a little color into my outfit to combat this dreary winter weather and swapped out heels for flats since I’m living in those bad boys these days…My six month old is crawling, so I’m doing a whole lotta chasing! At least I’m getting some extra cardio in right?
