2012 MamaScopes: Capricorn
Bring on the sass, Capricorn! In 2012, planet of luck Jupiter moves into your fifth house of romance and passion, and you’ll be more flirtatious and expressive than ever. The first six months of the year are a great time to change your hairstyle or even your hair color, to add bright hues to your wardrobe and mani/pedi repertoire. Just because you’re a Capricorn doesn’t mean you have to wear browns and greens ALL the time, right? Break out of any molds your personal style may have fallen into as of late and try something new. Did you just have a baby or are you still dealing with some pregnancy poundage? Stop wearing that maternity nightie you can’t seem to let go off, and ease your way into some post-partum styles. And if that means you have to tone or try shapewear, so be it! (The second half of the year is especially good for fitness fun.)
As for your professional life, Saturn, your ruling planet, will be in your house of career until October of this year, continuing your three-year climb up the ladder of success. This may have been a difficult time for you, Capricorn, even pushing to face some extraordinary challenges. But through everything, you keep managing to reinvent yourself, finding that energy and verve to go up to bat again and again. Fortunately, you thrive in an environment that forces you to persist, constantly up your game, and be your best at all times…so despite any upheavals, you’ve persevered and come out stronger. In the fall, Saturn moves into your eleventh house of all things social until 2015. You’ll once again feel up to the challenge of making new friends and doing professional networking, and you’ll have a newfound sense of grace and ease around groups and teams.
For most of 2012, changemaker Uranus will be in your fourth house of home and family—and because Uranus is known for creating a little stress and frustration wherever it goes, stay tuned for instability on the domestic front. Your kids might start rebelling or talking back, and there might even be some behavior problems at school and on the playground. Are you feeling restrained by the never-ending duties of being a mom? Prevent cabin fever and the mommy blues by making sure you have time to yourself. Get back to the hobbies and interests that you may have let fall by the wayside, and indulge in some much-needed girls’ nights out! You’re a serious sign, but that doesn’t mean you don’t need to have fun every once in awhile. Let your hair down and dare to misbehave.
Visit your favorite shops, museums, and galleries this year, and attend the cultural events that you so love. Take your kids along as well—they too might be craving a new outlet for their energy, and art, music, and dance are great directions for them to explore. Speaking of the kiddies, check out some alternative schools and educational philosophies if you’re not satisfied with the caliber of their current education. Waldorf, Montessori, or even home schooling could be more in line with your values and ideals, and a better fit for your bright and energetic little ones.
And don’t forget about yourself this year! There are two eclipses in your house of health and fitness, the first on May 20 and the second on November 28. Use these dates as the bookends to a six-month makeover of your eating and exercise habits—the changes you make during this time will yield dramatic results, giving you more energy and helping you feel good in your own skin.
