2012 MamaScopes: Virgo

The first half of 2012 is all about travel and adventure, Virgo, thanks to Jupiter’s tour through your ninth house of travel and expansion. You’ll feel bolder than ever, and increasingly wiling to try new things. While solo travel might be a bygone memory (sigh), why not take your kids along for the ride? Book a vacation at a kid-friendly resort or take a cross-country road trip, something that your kids (and you!) will never forget. Thanks to an eclipse in your house of family and home on June 4, a turning point could arrive for you and your nearest and dearest. You could get pregnant, perhaps, or you may move your family to a new neighborhood or town. Embrace whatever happens as yet another 2012 adventure—you’re more than equipped to handle it, Virgo.

The second half of the year is very career focused, as Jupiter makes its move into Gemini. You might start a new job or a project (especially at the May 20 and November 28 Gemini eclipses, or in the six month period in between). If you’ve been out of the workforce since you had children, you might find yourself editing that resume and applying for jobs. Even if your professional life gets a little stressful in the latter half of the year, stay positive, and more importantly, stay organized. Trying to jump-start your finances? Here’s a hint: organize your budget and stick to it. Become a little more gusty and assertive about your problem solving, and don’t take no for answer (take THAT, loan officer). Any problem you’re willing to tough out can be handled this year.

The co-op model is a great way to cut costs, too. Find innovative ways to pool your resources with other people. Share a babysitter or a nanny with a neighbor, have potluck dinner with friends, and become a member of a school or work carpool to save time and gas money. Whatever you do, it’s important not to let your health fall by the wayside, no matter how busy you get. Take advantage of all the energy coursing through your veins in the first half of the year, and sign up for some boot camp-style workouts. Use exercise to manage, and even lessen, your stress load, Virgo. Not sure what to do with the little ones while you’re sweating to the oldies? Find a gym or a local YMCA that offers babysitting services while moms work out. Or, team up with a friend whose children are the same age as yours—watch each other’s kids while the other hits the gym.

As for matters of the heart, it’s time to work on your sex appeal, Virgo! Be playful, flirty, and bold, and don’t be afraid to let your partner (or someone with partner potential) know about what you need in a relationship. If you’re single, 2012’s the perfect time for taking a chance on love. Ready to get back on the dating scene, but don’t have the first idea how to do so? Try online dating, or maybe even allow your friends and relatives to set you up on a blind date or two. You’ve got luck on your side, so go for it! Neptune moves into Pisces in June, creating a new, fourteen-year cycle in your marriage and relationship house. Translation? You’ll be on the lookout for that spiritual soulmate if you’re single, and if you’re already coupled up, you may need to do some healing together.

You have the tendency to be very judgmental or critical of your partner, and it’s high time you brought more compassion and understanding into your relationship.
