Addicted to Vampire Books
Yeah so I like the vamp books. This isn't new news as I've already confessed my vampire addiction to the world...but I still find it a little embarrassing that I'm not reading something more intellectual.
Last summer I shared my Top 5 Beach Reads: Vampire Style.
I still stand by that list I created if you're looking to fill the void in your life after "Twilight." And I can honestly say each of those books are fabulous - assuming you like reading about blood sucking immortals and have no problem with the supernatural.
The only thing that makes me feel better is that clearly I'm not the only reader devouring this new genre of books. Honestly, the paranormal romance and vampire genre is exploding right now. I can't keep up with the vast amount of new authors publishing in the paranormal romance category. Many of these are geared to the tweens and teens but there are also more explicit paranormal romance books published just for the adults.
Here are 3 more Vamprie or Paranormal options to add to your summer reading list.
Even mainstream award winning best selling authors like Meg Cabot, famous for the Princess Diaries, just published a paranormal romance for young adults, titled Abandon, this past month.

I read a preview copy and was enthralled. I presume it will be a hit with the teens and the vampire or paranormal obsessed Moms like me.
2. "My Blood Approves" - a Vampire Series by Amanda Hocking
These young adult books were excellent and easy vamp reads where the 17 year old protagonist Alice quickly gets VERY involved with a vampire family when she ends up being part of a love triangle between two brothers and herself.
I read all 3 books currently published in this series on my Kindle as they were only $0.99!
3. "A Discovery of Witches" by Deborah Harkness
This is the best book I've read in 2011. It is for adults and is actually an excellent piece of literature as opposed to much of the page turning vampire junk I tend to read. Full of witches, vampires, and demons galore, this gripping tale will not disappoint - especially if you are looking for something more intellectual.
