Get Fierce: My Episode 1 Recap (Dance Mom Abby)

As the new mom at the studio, of course I want people to like me - who doesn’t? But I knew going in, Debbie wasn’t going to be happy seeing me. I had already heard and was aware that she spoke poorly of Sammy and so I do hope the other moms will form their own opinions.

When I saw "The List", I was shocked – mainly because I was not aware they did this.  We have never experienced such a thing.  When I saw that Sammy was second, I was very pleased. However, I did wonder what the other moms would think because we were new to Stars -- but definitely not to the dance world.  I don’t know if her position on the list affected Sammy’s confidence but I’m sure she was pleased.

I think Sammy got distracted at the competition because of all the arguing that went on all week; neither of us has ever really experienced such competitive moms. I’m not looking for Sammy to "prove" anything I just want her to "improve" - that is why we came to Stars in the first place.  I want Sammy to learn from Victor and Angel.  Sammy loves to dance, perform, and compete. She competes to win - after all, that is why one competes.  But if she doesn’t ,life is not over.  She just loves to dance!!

Dance Moms Miami airs Tuesdays at 9/8c on Lifetime.
