Get To Know...Dance Mom Jill
Find out more about me, the new mom on the block, during the next drama filled episode of "Dance Moms Season 2", Tuesday nights at 9/8c on Lifetime.
Q: What was your New Year resolution?
A: My New Years resolution was to lose weight (same one I had last year).
Q: How would you feel if you child decided they wanted to stop dancing?
A: Heart broken!
Q: What’s always in your purse?
A: In my purse I have my Louis Vuitton wallet, my Tiffany makeup bag, some stray bobbie pins, and an extra hair tie.
Q: What is your greatest regret?
A: Not having another baby when I had the chance.
Q: What would you prefer for your child after they graduate high school: Broadway or College?
A: Tough one..., if they took classes in New York they could do both!
Q: What were you like in high school?
A: I was very social, captain of the varsity cheerleading squad and on student council. I helped to plan our school dances, prom and homecoming, plus I participated in the senior class play, "Oklahoma". I was, however a good student - my social life came before academics. I have to admit I loved the boys and the witty banter that went along with young relationships. Teachers were always very good to me - there was a nice respect between us. And I always knew what I could get away with!
Q: What’s the best piece of mother advice you’ve received?
A: The best piece of motherly advice was repeated constantly from my mother - "pretty is is pretty does". I have revamped this saying for my children into "your looks will get you in the door, your brains will keep you there."
Q: If your life was made into a Lifetime Movie what would it be called?
A: This is a tough one for me! I can't come up with anything clever enough to describe my very interesting life. There are just so many different facets of my life but I guess I will go with "Art form Lifestyle.com" to name my Lifetime Movie.
Q: What are your top tips for staying fit while on the road?
A: It is so tough to stay fit on the road. There is no time for any type of workout or exercise, but here are five things I try to do relentlessly:
1. Eat a low carb diet, no fast food!
2. Drink lots of water
3. Eat lots of fruit and fiber foods
4. Always take the stairs
5. Get as much rest as I can, no late night parties!
Q: What are the ways you blow off steam?
When I need to blow off steam (if time allows me) I like to indulge in a good book and forget about my worries, vent to my husband, chew gum, take a walk or if i'm lucky, do all of these at the same time, ha ha.
Q: Favorite recipes?
A: I'm not much of a cook (my poor family) but our favorite family recipes are spaghetti with my meat sauce, chicken and rice, grilled pork chops, blackberry and strawberry fruit smoothies and Buffalo chicken dip. I know...right?
Q: What were you like when you were Kendall’s age?
A: When I was eight years old, I dreamed big. I loved to dress up, put on makeup and sing and dance privately in my bedroom. I loved to ride horses, and loved all animals. I loved to play house with my friends. (My mom has photos of me at eight, I will try to get them for you).
